Description

A Span Set is one loop of polyester strands inside a black web cover. It is also known as a Polyester Sling, Poly Sling, or Round Sling. It is used in construction and theater rigging. It can be wrapped around a truss or beam. Each way the span set is wrapped creates a different rating. It is super important to protect the span set from abrasion. When using around a beam or truss it is essential to protect the span set from the edge of a beam or truss with padding to prevent any movement from potentially cutting into the span set itself.

The span set is pliable, and can be used in a choker shape, this prevents it from sliding along the beam or truss. Draped over the beam in a U or basket shape is the strongest. Or it can be used end to end. Each configuration is rated for different pounds of force. It is also possible to link 2 span sets together but this reduces the rated capacity of each span set. All our span sets are black. Made in the USA.

Product Specifications

Span sets are rated differently depending on how they are being used. If choked onto a beam it is rated at 2,120 pounds. End to end: 2,660 pounds. Looped over a beam with both ends hanging below the beam is called a basket. This is the strongest at 5,300 pounds of force. All our span sets are black and made in the USA. It is essential and critical to pad between the beam or truss and the span set to prevent abrasion.
